International sporting events and Oktoberfest in Munich are an attraction for guests

In the following report I would like to share my experiences from my visits to the city of Munich. The Bavarian capital is a popular holiday destination for guests from Germany and around the world. But what makes the city so special?

My stays in Munich

I have already visited the city several times and with every stay there are new places and things to discover. The unique flair of the city fascinates me and I plan to visit it at least every two years. The numerous cafés and beer gardens invite you to linger, especially in summer. Most of the time, I move into one of the numerous hotels near the main train station. So I can reach the city center on foot and visit all the sights by S-train or U-train. I prefer to get a first overview of the city on a city tour. When driving through the city you can see, for example, the woman Church, the Viktualienmarket, the Hofbreweryhouse, but also many other highlights. If necessary, you can get out and take a closer look at the places. Even if I have already seen many sights several times, I always enjoy looking at them.

The Oktoberfest

Even if I didn’t plan it out, I have already been to the city several times during the world-famous Oktoberfest. If you have the opportunity to visit the biggest fair in the world, you should definitely take advantage of it. Millions of guests arrive every year to take part in the Oktoberfest. Even if you are not a fan of thrills or beer tents, this very special atmosphere alone has to be experienced once. The event area on Theresienwiese can be easily reached by public transport or on foot from the main train station. The underground trains run every minute and visitors are directed to the site by loudspeaker announcements at peak times. In any case, you should take a look inside the large tents of the Munich breweries. In the evening you have to reserve your seats there, but so far I’ve still got a seat around noon.

I always enjoy letting this unique and peaceful atmosphere work on me.
There is also a lot to discover when walking around the event site. Showmen from all over Germany are here with their stands and rides. I always find the mixture of traditional stands, exciting rides and culinary highlights impressive.
I have already been to Munich several times during the Oktoberfest. At first I didn’t go to the event site because I was afraid that everything would be too crowded and the people too drunk. But then at some point I decided to go there and I was thrilled. Especially around noon the area is still quite empty and you can look at everything in peace. Since then, visiting the Oktoberfest has been a must for me.

International sporting events

The main reason I like Munich so much is FC Bayern. The station with the unusual roof construction should also be looked at if you are with another club. The evening games in the Champions League in particular always give goose bumps. If you get the chance to see a game live in the stadium, especially in one of the international competitions, then you shouldn’t miss it. You can also travel here by subway without any problems. The stairs to the stadium alone are an experience.

Conclusion

The Bavarian capital has something to offer for everyone. In addition to the well-known sights and the Oktoberfest, there are always major sporting events, such as international games, international FC Bayern games or athletics competitions. Therefore every visit is different and I am happy every time I am there. Why don’t you go there too.
